Decision Tree Insurance's Terms of Use For Its Tools

Last updated: June 15, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the calculators, decision guides, and other interactive tools (the "Tools") available on this website, which is owned and operated by Decision Tree Insurance ("DTI," "we," "us," or "our"). By checking the box confirming you have read these Terms and clicking "Start" on any Tool, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Tools.

The short version: These Tools are educational. They help you think through your options and get organized before you talk to a licensed agent. They are not personalized advice, not a quote, not a contract, and using them does not create any advisor relationship with DTI or with Kevin Wenke.

1. Educational Purpose Only

The Tools are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. They are designed to help you understand common concepts related to life insurance and related financial topics, and to organize your own thinking before a conversation with a licensed professional. Nothing produced by a Tool is intended to describe your specific situation, and the Tools do not know your full financial picture.

2. Not Insurance, Financial, Tax, or Legal Advice

Information and output generated by the Tools—including any suggestions, comparisons, scores, or "recommended paths"—is not insurance advice, financial advice, tax advice, or legal advice. It does not take into account your complete financial situation, health, family circumstances, or goals. Before making any decision about purchasing, changing, replacing, or canceling any insurance policy or financial product, you should consult a licensed insurance agent, financial professional, tax advisor, or attorney who is familiar with your specific circumstances.

3. No Advisor-Client Relationship

Using a Tool does not create an insurance agent-client relationship, a fiduciary relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and DTI, Kevin Wenke, or any affiliated company. Such a relationship is only established after direct contact and mutual agreement to work together, consistent with applicable state licensing requirements.

4. Estimates Only — Not a Quote or Contract

Any numbers, illustrations, or outcomes shown by a Tool are hypothetical estimates based on the information you enter and general assumptions. They are not a formal insurance quote, an offer of coverage, or a contract. Actual premiums, benefits, cash values, and terms are determined only through a formal application and underwriting process with a licensed insurance carrier, and can differ—sometimes significantly—from any estimate a Tool produces.

5. Product and State Availability

Insurance products are regulated at the state level. Not every product type, rider, or feature discussed in a Tool is available in every state, from every carrier, or for every applicant. Availability, coverage terms, and pricing depend on the carrier you apply with, your state of residence, and your personal underwriting factors (such as age and health).

6. Licensing and Where We Do Business

Kevin Wenke and Decision Tree Insurance hold a resident insurance producer license in Florida, and hold non-resident producer licenses in the following states: New York, Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, Maryland, Minnesota, Colorado, and Ohio. This list changes over time as new appointments are added; the current list as of the "Last updated" date above is the accurate one to the best of our knowledge. Before a solicitation can occur, Decision Tree and Kevin Wenke will confirm or obtain licensing in the state where the sale will occur

These Tools are accessible from anywhere, because the internet does not stop at a state line — but our authority to transact insurance business does. Using a Tool is general education, available to anyone, and is not an offer to sell insurance, a solicitation, or a recommendation of any specific product in any state where DTI or Kevin Wenke does not hold a valid license. If you are located in a state where we are not licensed, we cannot take an application from you, quote you a specific policy, or bind coverage. In that situation, you would need to be referred to a producer properly licensed in your state before any insurance transaction could take place.

7. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you enter into a Tool. The Tools cannot verify what you tell them, and output is only as reliable as your inputs. You should independently verify anything you rely on before making a financial decision.

8. Intellectual Property

The Tools, including their design, logic, text, and code, are the property of DTI and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the Tools for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Tools without our prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Links and References

Some Tools may reference or link to third-party resources, including government or industry sources, for general context. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or accuracy of third-party sites, and a link does not imply our endorsement of that site.

10. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability

The Tools are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DTI and its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any decision made, or any loss or damage of any kind, arising from your use of, or reliance on, a Tool.

11. Privacy

Information you enter into a Tool is used to generate your results within that session. [Confirm and describe actual data handling here — e.g., whether inputs are stored, transmitted, or logged, and link to your Privacy Policy.] Please see our Privacy Policy for more detail on how we handle information.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Tools after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. ]
